Balancing Life and Internet Marketing
I’ve been building niche websites for a while now. I can definitely say that the process of finding great niche website ideas and then developing them into money making websites take a lot of work. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer.
Probably too much…
My wife is supportive of my efforts. She knows that what I am doing is helping us to achieve our dreams of financial security and freedom. But I can tell she is getting impatient. I think she misses the time we used to spend together.
I’ve learned that I need to pay attention to other things besides my internet business. I need to pay attention to my relationships, my health, my friends, my my family, and most importantly, I need to pay attention to her!
Is your internet business taking over your life? Is it happening too slow? Does it take too much time?
I’ve begun looking for ways to automate certain tasks, to outsource some of my work, and to help me become more productive and efficient.
One of my internet marketing heroes has a great new video on internet marketing shortcuts. Among other tips, he demonstrates how to crack open difficult markets, find great niche website ideas, and most importantly how to save you time so that you can spend more time with the truly important things in life.

Niche Website Ideas – How To Get Rid Of…
Here is another quick and easy way to use the power of Google Suggest to find hot niche website ideas.
One of our main goals as niche marketers is to find a hungry audience and then give them what they want. One of the more profitable areas of niche marketing is to find people with problems and then help them understand and solve their problems. Our job is to act as a matchmaker, matching our market with the products and services they need.
Do you think someone who types the phrase “How do I get rid of…” into the search engines has a problem? You bet. Not only are they motivated to solve their problem, in many cases they will be willing to spend money on a solution.
How do we find out about these problems? Let’s ask Google.
All we need is Google’s home page.
Go to http://www.google.com
In the search box, type: How do I get rid of
Notice that Google will suggest a number of phrases. Each of these are potential niche website ideas.
Now try adding another letter or two to the search phrase.
- How do I get rid of a
- How do I get rid of b
- How do I get rid of c
- How do I get rid of pa
- How do I get rid of te
Do you see how this works? Each time you change the term, Google will give you a new list of ideas. Using this techniuqe, you can find thousands of great niche website ideas. You can also vary the technique with different words and phrases.
For example:
- where can I buy
- best price on
- how to fix my
- how to stop
- how to lose
Find people with problems and help them find solutions. There is no shortage of great niche website ideas out there.

Instant Niche Website Ideas – Using Google To Find Profitable Niche Markets
Here is a quick and easy way to find niche website ideas. I think of it as an idea sparker or a simple way to come up with profitable niche market ideas that I would have never thought up on my own. I like to use it as a way to jumpstart my brain on days when I am not feeling so creative.
For this method, we are going to let Google tell us what people are shopping for. We are going to use the Google Product Search Tool (formerly known as Froogle).
You know these are profitable niches because people are actively looking for them on Google. Even better, these searches were all recent, meaning people are looking to buy these items right now.
Step 1:
The first step is to visit Google’s Product Finder tool. You can find this by clicking on “Shopping” from Google’s home page. Or you can go directly to the Product finder via this link:
http://www.google.com/products
Step 2:
Now here is the fun part.
Look down at the section labeled, “A few of the items recently found with Google Product Search:”
This list is full of great niche website ideas. Everyone represents a product or service that people are actively looking to spend money on right now.
I like to take whatever gets my attention first and throw it into my favorite keyword tool. I usually try to pick the most obscure item on the list, because I know that will lead me to hidden untapped markets. But sometimes even the most mainstream item can lead me to new niche website ideas.
If you see a term that you like, go ahead and click on it. This will take you to a deeper page showing a bunch of different products related to that term.
If you don’t see anything you like, simply click your browser’s Refresh button. You will get a whole new list of random niche ideas.
Let me give you a example. The first term to catch my eye was: Outdoor Fireplace
Clicking on the link showed a bunch of different models of portable outdoor fire pits.
Then I entered the term into my favorite keyword search tool. You could also use Google’s keyword tool for this. I came up with a long list of keyword terms for people searching for the product. But there were also a lot of people looking for information on how to build a firepit.
There are a lot of profitable niche markets here. You could link to specific products or types of products. Or you can promote “How To Build A Firepit” ebooks. Or both.
There, now I have several niche website ideas ready to go and it only took about 10 seconds.
Happy niche hunting!

Finding Good Niche Website Ideas – Just The Beginning
I love coming up with new niche website ideas. But even more important is coming up with good keyword phrases. The keyword phrases are what people are searching for. Each one represents a potential market of people ready and willing to buy through your links on your website.
I spend a lot of time researching keywords online. I enjoy it, but it is time consuming. I feel like a detective, asking questions in different ways to different people trying to get the answers that I want. I make long lists of potential keywords, research search volumes, find “Exact Match” figures, and try to estimate the level of competition. At the end of the day, maybe I’ll turn one out of a 1000 keywords into a website. But I know that keyword has a good chance to be profitable because I’ve thoroughly researched it.
But even that only another step in the process. If you really want to be successful, you have to find a hungry audience and build your site around their wants and needs. I believe that just about every product or service has a hungry audience. If they don’t then that product won’t stay around very long. So if you find something for sale, people are probably buying it. The trick is to find who those people are and what they are hungry for.
Happy niche hunting.
